S. siwjan; Engl. sew; Dan. sye; Lat. suere]:—to sew; séðu (sew thou) hve vel þeir séðu (sewed) er fyrir saumförinni réðu, Skálda, Thorodd: part. seðr or söðr, sewn; jarni sæðr, Hallfred (FS. 205); skyrta hamri söð, hammer-knit, epithet of a coat of mail, FmS. xi. 197 (in a verse).
