As defined by the Cleasby & Vigfusson Old Norse to English dictionary:
- fimm-tögr (fimm-tǫgr)
- or fimm-tugr, adj. fifty years old, Fms. xi. 75:—measuring fifty (ells, fathoms, or the like), cp. áttræðr.
Orthography: The Cleasby & Vigfusson book used letter ö to represent the original Old Norse vowel ǫ. Therefore, fimm-tögr may be more accurately written as fimm-tǫgr.
Possible runic inscription in Younger Futhark:ᚠᛁᛘᛘ-ᛏᚢᚴᚱ
Younger Futhark runes were used from 8th to 12th centuries in Scandinavia and their overseas settlements
